a day for the soldiers

Suicide Prevention Day • September 10th

“I’d tell myself if I could just survive the next 60 seconds, I’d be all right…”

Depression changes your thoughts and beliefs. That’s why I was unable to feel the hope of getting better and why my emotions no longer matched the reality I was living in. I had given up on life until I reached out and asked for help.

Reaching out and asking for help was the best decision I’ve ever made. I believe I am a strong, happy, brave, caring, loving, daughter, friend, sister, and cousin and more.

While my battle with depression and these ‘scary thoughts’ may not be over, I’ll continue to fight them everyday. You are worth it. You are strong. You are capable.

My mental struggles do not define me. Don’t let yours define you.
